Hydraulic front loader solution with twelve software-based functions

Tony Seidel has been with Bucher Hydraulics for six years and is currently Product Manager. Software development presents a real opportunity for him and his team to redefine the functionality of front loaders. The opportuniwty to develop a front loader software solution for the renowned front loader manufacturer Stoll was both fascinating and challenging.

Tony Seidel, Bucher Hydraulics: “With the aim of constantly bringing new, convincing subsystems to the market, in January 2023, we presented Stoll with the idea of a software-based front loader solution with twelve functions – and the doors were wide open.”

Frank Selent, Stoll: “Bucher Hydraulics’ proposal for a joint solution came at just the right time, as we were looking for a supplier who could cover both software and hydraulics.”

Tony Seidel, Bucher Hydraulics: “We developed the software solution from scratch at our premises, tested it with tractors, consulted with Stoll regularly in online meetings, sent them updates, or visited Stoll to finalise on site – and thus created a fully functional system in a very short time.”

Frank Selent, Stoll: “We can plug and play the hydraulic control block with the software controller into our front loaders and thus offer an innovation that we are convinced will represent a quantum leap in the market.”

Now that the software-based front loader solution with twelve functions is ready for series production, Bucher Hydraulics is already collaborating with Stoll on the next innovations, such as a telescopic front loader for additional horizontal reach and lift height. The prototype, which Stoll presented to the public for the first time at the Agritechnica trade fair in Hanover (Germany), was awarded a silver medal.

Both successes underscore Bucher Hydraulics’ commitment to making the work of farmers and construction contractors even easier, more efficient, and safer.
